Apart from the basic knowledge in biological and biocatalytic processes, separation technologies, mechanical and reaction engineering, master students will get an insight into the most challenging problems on the boundaries between these disciplines and participate in the collaborative research of several departments

Admission Requirements:

Applicants should hold a Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in Chemical Engineering or Biotechnology and must show a very good previous academic performance as well as sufficient proficiency in English

Language requirements: One of the following language certificates is required

  • a valid TOEFL score (at least 577 (PB) or 90 (IB) points). The TUHH Institution Code is 8165. Attention: The TOEFL ITP is not recognized by the TUHH!
  • IELTS academics score (minimum 6.5 points);
  • Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English;
  • a valid Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English;
  • a valid ” telc English C1” result;

Application Procedure

The application period for Masters Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering the winter semester starts on January 3rd and ends on March 1st. All applicants have to apply online. The online application form will be available only during the
application period.

Special information for applicants from India
Please submit university transcripts and degree certificates issued by your university, not by your college. If your complete name (first, middle and second name) is not mentioned on your certificates, please submit an additional document from your university confirming your identity. It is sufficient if your date of birth is mentioned on your certificates, in this case, your complete name is not that important.

Special information for applicants from China, Mongolia, and Vietnam
In case if admission applicants from China, Mongolia or Vietnam must additionally submit an APS-certificate of the “Akademische Prüfstelle” upon enrolment. The APS-certificate must be valid for the complete course of studies. Applicants have to apply for the APS-certificate at the responsible German embassy in Beijing, Hanoi or Ulan Bator. Applicants who hold a scholarship from DAAD or another recognized German scholarship organization can be exempted from this requirement
